Indigenous to regions like the Mediterranean, its vibrant yellow flowers are not just beautiful but also packed with essential compounds beneficial to human health. Known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties, helichrysum has found its place in traditional medicine for centuries. In this article, we explore how you can harness the power of helichrysum in your wellness routine.
Ingredients:
Helichrysum essential oil – 10 drops
Coconut oil – 2 tbsp (for dilution or as a carrier oil)
Honey – 1 tbsp (optional, for soothing skin and additional anti-inflammatory benefits)
Aloe Vera Gel – 2 tbsp (optional, for calming and hydrating skin)
Water – 1 cup (for infusion or use in tea)
Instructions:
Helichrysum Oil Infusion:
In a clean glass jar, combine the helichrysum essential oil with coconut oil. This creates a diluted blend suitable for topical use.
Gently shake the jar to mix the oils. Let the mixture sit for 1-2 hours before applying it directly to the skin for inflammation, cuts, or bruises.
Helichrysum Tea:
Boil one cup of water, and once it reaches a rolling boil, remove it from the heat.
Add a heaping teaspoon of dried helichrysum flowers into the hot water.
Let it steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain the flowers and add honey for sweetness, if desired.
Drink once a day to help with digestive issues or to boost immunity.
Helichrysum Face Mask:
Mix 10 drops of helichrysum essential oil with 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of honey in a small bowl.
