Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
12 oz fettuccine pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Chicken:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet, and set it aside to rest.

Prepare the Pasta:
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package instructions, usually for about 9-11 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water for later.

Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.

Add Parmesan:
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let it melt into the sauce, creating a smooth, creamy texture. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Combine Chicken and Pasta:
Slice the cooked chicken breasts into thin strips. Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
