Take a large saucepan, and boil water over high heat. Once the water is boiling, add 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, then the shrimp. Reduce the heat to medium, and let the shrimp cook uncovered until they turn a nice pink color and are cooked through, which should take about 2 minutes.
Now turn off the heat, and using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked shrimp from the pot, and plunge them into a bowl of cold water. You get the idea, it's to stop the cooking process. We don't want overcooked shrimp, that would be a shame!
Let's move on to the sauce:
Take a bowl, and beat together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar, garlic, kosher salt and black pepper. There, you get a divine sauce!
