Introduction:
As we age, our eyesight naturally tends to decline, often due to lack of proper nutrients or constant exposure to screens. However, with the right combination of vitamins and minerals, we can support and even improve our vision. One such powerful blend is the carrot and beet juice, packed with essential nutrients that promote eye health. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A, a crucial vitamin for maintaining sharp vision. Beets, on the other hand, are packed with antioxidants and minerals like potassium and magnesium, all contributing to overall health, including eye health. This juice recipe is an easy, natural way to rejuvenate your vision and enjoy a refreshing drink with plenty of health benefits.
Ingredients:
2 large carrots
1 medium-sized beetroot
1 small apple (optional for added sweetness)
1-inch piece of fresh ginger (optional for added zing)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (for added freshness and vitamin C)
1/2 cup water (or more depending on desired consistency)
Instructions:
Prepare the ingredients: Wash the carrots and beetroot thoroughly. Peel the beetroot if necessary, and cut both the carrots and beetroot into smaller chunks to make juicing easier.
Juicing: Add the carrot chunks, beetroot, apple (if using), and ginger (if using) into a juicer. If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend all the ingredients in a blender and then strain the juice using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the pulp.
Mix: Once juiced, add the lemon juice to the mixture and stir well.
Serve: Pour the juice into a glass and serve immediately for maximum freshness and nutrient content.
Tips for Serving and Storing:
Serving: Serve the juice chilled for a refreshing experience. You can also garnish the glass with a slice of lemon or a mint leaf for an added touch of freshness.
Storing: It’s best to consume this juice immediately to preserve its nutrients. However, if you have leftovers, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. The juice may separate over time, so be sure to give it a good stir before drinking.
