Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns
1 cup marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2-inch thick.
Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and browned on the outside. If you prefer, you can also grill the patties.
Assemble the Pizza Burgers: While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns in a separate pan or in the oven. Once toasted, place the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun.
Top with Pizza Ingredients: Spoon a generous amount of marinara sauce over each patty. Then, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by optional pizza toppings like pepperoni and mushrooms.
Melt the Cheese: Cover the patties with a lid or transfer the burgers to the oven under the broiler for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese until it’s bubbly and golden.
Serve: Place the top halves of the buns onto the burgers. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for a burst of color and flavor, then serve immediately!
