Oreo Red Velvet Cheesecake Trifle

Ingredients:

– 1 package red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare the cake)
– 24 Oreo cookies, crushed
– 16 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 2 cups heavy cream
– Red food coloring
– Extra Oreo cookies for garnish

Instructions:

1. Bake the Red Velvet Cake: Prepare the red velvet cake as directed on the package. Once it’s fully baked and cooled, crumble it into small, even pieces.

2. Make the Cheesecake Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.

3. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to create a light, airy texture.

4. Add the Red Color: Mix in a few drops of red food coloring into the cream cheese mixture until you achieve a vibrant red shade.

5. Layer the Trifle: In serving glasses or a large trifle dish, start with a layer of red velvet cake crumbs. Follow with a layer of crushed Oreo cookies, then a layer of the cream cheese mixture. Repeat these layers until all the ingredients are used, ending with a cream cheese layer.

6. Chill the Trifle: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours to allow it to set and the flavors to meld.

7. Garnish and Serve: Before serving, top with extra Oreo cookies for a delightful garnish.
