Introduction
In a world dominated by over-the-counter medications and quick fixes, ancient kitchen remedies are making a powerful comeback. One such time-tested elixir is a humble yet potent blend of honey, lemon, onion, garlic, and ginger. This combination isn't just flavorful—it's packed with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting properties. Whether you're fighting off a cold, boosting your immunity, or just starting your day on a natural note, this daily teaspoon could be your go-to health ally.
Ingredients:
1 medium-sized onion (preferably red or yellow)
4 cloves of fresh garlic
2 tablespoons fresh ginger (peeled and chopped)
1 organic lemon (sliced with peel)
1/2 cup raw, unfiltered honey
Instructions:
Prep the Ingredients: Finely chop the onion, garlic, and ginger. Slice the lemon into thin rounds, keeping the peel intact for added nutrients.
Layer the Mix: In a clean glass jar (preferably 16 oz), layer the onion, garlic, and ginger. Place lemon slices between layers.
Add the Honey: Pour honey slowly over the layered ingredients until fully submerged. Use a spoon to gently press the contents down and eliminate air pockets.
Infuse Naturally: Seal the jar with a tight-fitting lid and let it sit at room temperature for 24–48 hours. During this time, the honey will draw out juices and create a syrup-like infusion.
Strain (Optional): After infusing, you can strain the liquid and store it separately, or leave the mixture as-is and consume a spoonful with all the bits.
Serving and Storage Tips:
Daily Dosage: Take 1 teaspoon daily on an empty stomach or mix it into warm (not hot) water or herbal tea.
Storage: Store the jar in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 weeks. Always use a clean spoon to avoid contamination.
When Sick: Increase to 1 teaspoon 3 times daily during colds or flu.
