Italian caprese salad

Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices alternately on a serving platter, overlapping them slightly.
Scatter a few basil leaves over the tomatoes and mozzarella.
Drizzle the salad with extra virgin olive oil. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
If desired, drizzle a balsamic glaze over the caprese salad to give it an extra kick of flavor.
