2-3 large pomegranates
Water (optional, for dilution)
Sweetener (optional, for taste)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Prepare the Pomegranates: Start by cutting off the crown (the top) of the pomegranate. Score the skin from top to bottom in several places, then gently break the pomegranate apart into sections.
Remove the Seeds: Fill a large bowl with water and submerge the pomegranate sections. Using your fingers, gently loosen the seeds (also called arils) from the white pith. The seeds will sink to the bottom, while the pith floats to the top. Skim off the pith and strain the seeds.
Blend the Seeds: Place the pomegranate seeds in a blender. Blend on high speed until the seeds are broken down and you have a thick, juicy mixture.
Strain the Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher. Press down on the pulp with a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
Add Water and Sweetener (Optional): If the juice is too strong or tart for your taste, you can dilute it with water. You can also add a little sweetener, such as honey or sugar, if desired.
Serve and Enjoy: Pour the fresh pomegranate juice into glasses and enjoy immediately. Store any leftover juice in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
