- Preheat oven to 180°. Place coconut and pecans in a 15-by-10-by-1-inch baking dish. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until toasted, stirring every 2 minutes. Let cool.
- In a large bowl, place the melted butter and sugars and mix until light and fluffy, 5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Add to mixture; beat well. Add the oats, chocolate chips, coconut and toasted nuts.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 180° for about 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.
