Creating your own beetroot lip balm at home is a fun and natural way to keep your lips soft and beautifully tinted. Beetroot is packed with vitamins and antioxidants that nourish the lips, while its natural pigment gives a lovely rosy tint. Here’s how to make your own beetroot lip balm using fresh beetroot juice.
Ingredients:
1 fresh beetroot (for juice)
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon shea butter (or cocoa butter)
1 teaspoon beeswax (or candelilla wax for a vegan option)
Optional: a few drops of essential oil (like peppermint or lavender) for added fragrance
Instructions:
Step 1: Extract Beetroot Juice
Peel and chop the beetroot into small pieces.
Blend the beetroot with a little water to form a smooth paste.
Strain the mixture through a fine cloth or sieve to extract the juice. Make sure the juice is as concentrated as possible, as this will give the lip balm its color.
Step 2: Prepare the Balm Base
In a small heatproof bowl, add the coconut oil, shea butter (or cocoa butter), and beeswax.
Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and gently heat until all the ingredients melt together.
Stir the mixture well to combine all the oils and wax.
Step 3: Add Beetroot Juice
