Grandma’s Cinnamon Rolls

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Whisk together egg and milk in a separate bowl.
Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Roll Out the Dough:

Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick, on a lightly floured surface.
Add the Filling:

Spread softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.
Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
Roll Up the Dough:

Roll up the dough into a log, starting from one long edge.
Slice the Rolls:

Slice the log into 12 equal-sized rolls using a sharp knife.
Bake the Rolls:

Place rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each roll.
Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake risen rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve and Enjoy:

Let rolls cool slightly before serving.
Drizzle with icing if desired.
