Introduction
As we age, joint stiffness and knee discomfort can become daily companions, especially for seniors. The cartilage that cushions our joints naturally wears down over time, leading to aches and reduced mobility. Fortunately, nature offers potent ingredients that can be blended into a powerful drink to nourish joints, reduce inflammation, and support cartilage regeneration. This recipe is easy to prepare, rich in anti-inflammatory properties, and delicious enough to enjoy every day.
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your preferred plant-based milk)
1 tsp turmeric powder (or freshly grated turmeric root)
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tbsp collagen powder (hydrolyzed, grass-fed is ideal)
1 tsp honey (optional, for taste)
1/4 tsp black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)
1 tbsp chia seeds (for omega-3 and fiber)
1/2 banana (adds potassium and creaminess)
Ice cubes (optional, for a chilled version)
Directions:
In a blender, combine the almond milk, turmeric, ginger, collagen powder, banana, and black pepper.
Blend on high for about 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.
Stir in the chia seeds and let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes to allow them to swell.
Add honey to taste if desired, and blend again briefly.
Serve immediately. Add a few ice cubes if you prefer it cold.
