Get ribs so good from a slow cooker, you might retire your grill

About two racks’ worth of pork side ribs, or three pounds
Two 12-ounce bottles of root beer
2-and-a-half cups of barbeque sauce
One teaspoon of salt
One teaspoon of pepper
What to do
1. Peel back the silvery skin that covers the ribs’ backside. To achieve this, place the back of the spoon directly beneath it and use your fingers to lift and slide it off the ribs.
2. Transfer the ribs to a 6-quart slow cooker after liberally seasoning them with salt and pepper. Top with the root beer.
Turn the heat down to low and simmer for five hours, or up to three hours on high.
4. Take the ribs out of the slow cooker and place them on a dish. The slow cooker liquid should be discarded.
5. Add the barbecue sauce and the ribs back inside. Make sure the ribs are well coated with sauce. Add another hour of cooking time on high.

6. Carefully take it out of the slow cooker and top it with sauce.
Expert tip: Instead of putting the ribs back into the slow cooker, spray them with sauce and broil them for a few minutes to get charred pieces that will add a smokey taste and make it look like they came straight off the grill.
