German Chocolate Sheet Cake Recipe (Say « yummy » to get added to the Active Member List!)
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 cups white sugar
– ¼ cup cocoa powder
– 1 cup water
– ½ cup butter (1 stick)
– ½ cup shortening
– 4 oz German baking chocolate
– ½ cup buttermilk
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– ½ teaspoon salt
– 2 eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Frosting:
– 12 oz can evaporated milk
– 3 egg yolks
– ¾ cup butter
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– ½ cup brown sugar
– 1 ½ cups shredded coconut
– 1 ½ cups pecans, roughly chopped
– 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
