1. Heat Treatment for Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are difficult to eliminate because they hide in small crevices and reproduce quickly. Heat treatment is a scientifically proven method that removes them without using harmful chemicals.
Why It Works
Bed bugs cannot survive high temperatures. Exposing them to heat above 118°F (48°C) for at least 90 minutes kills both adults and eggs.
How to Use Heat Treatment
- Step 1: Identify infested areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and nearby furniture.
- Step 2: Use a high-temperature steam cleaner to treat these areas, focusing on cracks, crevices, and seams.
- Step 3: Wash all bedding, curtains, and clothing in hot water (above 130°F/54°C) and dry them on high heat for at least 30 minutes.
- Step 4: Place small infested items, such as books or shoes, in a sealed plastic bag and expose them to direct sunlight for several hours.
