Introduction
Gout and elevated uric acid levels can cause intense joint pain, swelling, and inflammation. While medications help manage these conditions, natural remedies like artichoke and lemon water can support your body's detox process and offer long-term relief. Both artichokes and lemons are praised for their diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and liver-cleansing properties. Combined, they make a simple yet powerful home remedy to reduce uric acid buildup and promote overall wellness.
Ingredients
1 large fresh artichoke (organic if possible)
1 whole lemon (preferably organic)
4 cups (1 liter) of filtered water
Directions
Clean the Artichoke: Rinse the artichoke thoroughly under cold water. Trim off the stem and remove tough outer leaves if needed.
Boil the Artichoke: Place the artichoke in a pot with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 30–40 minutes, or until the artichoke is tender and the water turns a light greenish-brown.
Add Lemon: Once the water cools slightly, squeeze in the juice of one lemon. Stir well.
Strain and Store: Remove the artichoke and strain the water into a clean glass jar or pitcher.
Serving and Storage Tips
Serving: Drink one glass on an empty stomach in the morning and another before dinner.
Storage: Keep the infused water refrigerated in a sealed glass container. Consume within 2–3 days for maximum freshness and potency.
