Ingredients
For the Date Coffee Loaf Cake:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pitted dates

½ cup strong brewed coffee, cooled

½ cup buttermilk

¾ cup chopped walnuts

For the Rich Espresso Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon instant espresso powder

2-3 tablespoons hot water

Instructions
Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with brown sugar until creamy and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

Combine Wet Ingredients: Stir in the cooled coffee and buttermilk until well mixed.

Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually fold the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Dates and Walnuts: Gently fold in the chopped dates and walnuts.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Glaze: While the cake cools, mix powdered sugar and espresso powder in a small bowl. Slowly add hot water one tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches a pourable consistency.

Glaze and Serve: Drizzle the espresso glaze over the cooled cake. Slice and enjoy!
