Introduction
When a sore throat strikes, nature offers powerful remedies that have stood the test of time. One such unsung hero is the humble clove. Packed with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties, cloves have been used for centuries in traditional medicine to treat throat pain, infections, and coughs. This simple yet effective clove-based remedy harnesses the power of nature to bring fast relief—and it’s incredibly easy to make at home.

Ingredients
5–6 whole cloves

1 cup water

1 teaspoon raw honey (optional, for taste and added soothing properties)

1 small slice of fresh ginger (optional, for added anti-inflammatory benefits)

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for vitamin C boost)

Directions
Boil the cloves: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil. Add the whole cloves and reduce heat.

Simmer: Let the cloves simmer for about 10 minutes. For a stronger infusion, simmer up to 15 minutes.

Optional add-ins: If using ginger, add it in the last 5 minutes of simmering.

Strain: Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a mug.

Enhance the flavor: Stir in raw honey and lemon juice while the mixture is still warm (not boiling hot).

Serving and Storage Tips
Serve warm, ideally sipping slowly to coat the throat.

Best consumed fresh, but you can store any leftover in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Reheat gently before drinking—avoid boiling again to preserve honey's benefits.

For added relief, sip 2–3 times a day when symptoms are present.
