Introduction
Did you know that your kitchen scraps can become powerful, eco-friendly household cleaners? Orange peels, often discarded without a second thought, are packed with natural oils and antibacterial properties. Instead of tossing them in the trash, why not transform them into an effective, chemical-free cleaner? This guide will show you how to turn citrus waste into a sustainable solution that keeps your home sparkling and your conscience clear.

Ingredients
To create your own all-natural orange peel cleaner, you'll need:

Peels from 3–5 oranges (or other citrus fruits like lemons or mandarins)

2 cups white distilled vinegar

A large mason jar with a tight-fitting lid

A fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth

A reusable spray bottle

Optional: A few sprigs of rosemary, cloves, or cinnamon sticks for added scent

Instructions
Prep the Peels
Rinse your orange peels thoroughly to remove any dirt or pesticide residue. Cut them into smaller pieces for easier storage.

Infuse the Vinegar
Place the orange peels in a clean mason jar. Fill the jar with white vinegar until the peels are completely submerged. If desired, add herbs or spices for an aromatic twist.

Steep and Wait
Seal the jar and store it in a cool, dark place for about 2 weeks. Shake it gently every few days to help the oils infuse into the vinegar.

Strain the Liquid
After 2 weeks, strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl to separate the liquid from the solids.

Transfer to Spray Bottle
Pour the infused vinegar into a clean spray bottle. Dilute with equal parts water (1:1 ratio) for general cleaning use.

Serving and Storage Tips
Store your DIY cleaner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Shake the bottle before each use to redistribute the oils.

Use within 6 months for best results, although it can last longer.
