Introduction
In an age dominated by screens and artificial lighting, maintaining optimal eye health is more crucial than ever. While regular eye check-ups and protective eyewear are essential, nature offers its own remedies for vision support — and one humble herb stands out: oregano.
Packed with antioxidants like carvacrol, thymol, and rosmarinic acid, oregano isn't just for seasoning pasta. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties may also play a role in maintaining healthy eyesight and reducing oxidative stress in the eyes. Let’s explore a simple, natural recipe using oregano that could benefit your eyes from the inside out.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon dried oregano (or 1 tablespoon fresh oregano leaves, finely chopped)
1 cup filtered hot water
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional, for taste)
Juice of half a lemon (for vitamin C boost)
1 small piece of fresh ginger (optional, anti-inflammatory bonus)
Instructions:
Steep the Oregano: Place dried or fresh oregano in a cup. Pour hot water over it and allow it to steep for 8–10 minutes.
Strain & Flavor: Strain the mixture into another cup. Add honey and lemon juice, stirring well. Drop in the ginger if you’re using it.
Cool Slightly & Sip Slowly: Let the tea cool to a comfortable temperature. Sip mindfully and relax.
