Introduction:
A clean kitchen is the heart of a happy home, and keeping your oven and stove spotless is essential for maintaining both hygiene and aesthetics. However, cooking spills, grease, and burnt food can easily build up, making your kitchen appear cluttered and dirty. But don’t worry! With the right tools and a foolproof cleaning method, your oven and stove can shine like new. In this article, we’ll walk you through a simple, effective cleaning routine that will leave your kitchen sparkling and free of stubborn grime.
Ingredients:
Baking soda
White vinegar
Dish soap (preferably natural or non-toxic)
Warm water
Microfiber cloth or sponge
Rubber gloves (optional)
Toothbrush or small scrub brush
Spray bottle
Instructions:
Pre-Cleaning Prep: Begin by unplugging your oven (if it’s electric) and allowing it to cool if it’s been recently used. For stovetops, ensure all burners are turned off and cooled.
Oven Cleaning:
Step 1: Make a cleaning paste by mixing 1/2 cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water until it forms a thick consistency.
Step 2: Spread the paste generously over the interior surfaces of the oven, focusing on areas with visible grease or food stains. Avoid applying it directly to heating elements or the oven door glass.
Step 3: Let the paste sit for at least 12 hours (or overnight). This allows the baking soda to break down grease and grime.
Step 4: After the waiting period, use a damp cloth to wipe away the paste. For stubborn spots, scrub with a toothbrush or small brush.
Step 5: Spray white vinegar over any remaining baking soda residue. The vinegar will fizz, helping to loosen the grime even more.
Step 6: Wipe down everything with a clean, damp microfiber cloth until all residues are removed.
