Ingredients:
For the Yolk Dough:
3 egg yolks
200g unsalted butter, softened
100g sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
200g all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
For the Meringue:
3 egg whites
150g granulated sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Prepare the Yolk Dough:

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until light and creamy.
Add in the softened butter and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until smooth.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture, forming a soft dough. Don’t overwork it.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Prepare the Meringue:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a clean, dry bowl, whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until frothy.
Add the lemon juice and vanilla extract, then gradually add the sugar, whisking continuously until stiff peaks form.
Assemble the Cake:

Roll out the chilled yolk dough into a round shape, about 1/4 inch thick. Place it in a greased cake pan.
Spread the meringue over the dough, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the meringue is golden and the dough is cooked through.
Let the cake cool before removing it from the pan.
Serve and Enjoy:
